A European UAV manufacturer needed lightweight, high-strength carbon-fiber-compatible aluminum frames for a new industrial drone. ANXIN CNC delivered 500 sets per month with ±0.02mm tolerance.
Project Challenge
The frame had thin walls (0.8mm) and multiple precision interface holes for carbon tubes and gimbals. Distortion during machining and anodizing was the main risk.
Our Solution
- 7075-T6 billet with stress relief before roughing
- Fixture design for thin-wall clamping
- 5-axis finishing in one setup to keep coaxiality
- Type III hard anodizing with masking on bearing bores
Results
First-pass yield reached 99.2%. The customer scaled from 50 to 500 sets per month within 3 months, with zero return issues.
